Project length: 4 weeks

The Conversion Brief

Our customer approached us needing a secure space for a generator. After speaking with our container conversions team and seeing examples of previous generator store container we have previously produced on numerous occasions a design was quickly agreed upon. The customer had a specific generator that needed to be stored and needed to be used throughout the day.

Breakdown of the Project

After receiving an online enquiry from a customer that required a secure space to store a generator, we were able to showcase the various generator store containers we have previously fabricated for a number of customers in various configurations. The requirements were to fit a specific size generator and needed to be secure and not to large, we were able to narrow the options to a 10ft container.

The customer selected a previous 10ft generator store that we produced in 2017 with some alternations. The main structure was identical however the customer requested an emergency push bar personnel door fitted and to be raised above the internal bunded flooring. The second alteration was to use 4no. 1000mm x 1000mm vents stacked vertically to form one large vent to reduce costs for a bespoke vent. Thirdly the addition of a quick release tap installed through the container flooring to release any liquids that may be spilled inside container. Finally, the position of the cable entry needed to be repositioned to match the entry points for the generator.

The container was delivered to site with on a 4-week deadline, the customer was extremely happy with the unit and is now on the construction site and provides a secure solution.
