The Conversion Brief

We got contacted by one of our regular clients to manufacture a shipping container conversion to their specification to be used off-shore on their rig. The container needed to be fitted with a lifting beam to lift up to a tonne in weight.

Breakdown of the Project

One of our regular clients in the North East contacted us with regards to having a 1Tn lifting beam fitted within a 20ft new ‘one trip’ shipping container for use on a rig.

We fabricated the lifting frame from steel I-Beam and fitted the framework like goal posts with a longitude I-Beam that extends out of the 20ft shipping container. The beam trolley & chains lifts equipment (weighing up to 1 tonne) and then the longitude I-Beam is manually pushed back into the container where the equipment can be stored/ worked on out of the elements. The 20ft shipping container was then painted internally in light grey and externally in client’s corporate colours.
