20ft Open Top Shipping Containers and 40ft Open Top Shipping Containers are the two most commonly sold sizes, measuring 20ft x 8ft x 8ft 6" and 40ft x 8ft x 8ft respectively.
The roof on an open top container consists of removable bows and a removable tarpaulin. The door header may also be swivelled out. These two structural features greatly simplify the process of packing and unpacking the container. In particular, it is very easy to pack and unpack the container from above or through the doors by crane or crab when the roof is open and the door header is swivelled out. Popular for shipping products overseas.
20ft x 8ft & 40ft x 8ft flatrack shipping containers. Flat rack containers are especially suitable for heavy loads and cargo that needs loading from the top or sides, such as pipes and machinery. You will find collapsible containers and non-collapsible flat rack containers. Popular for shipping products overseas.
20ft x 8ft & 40ft x 8ft half height shipping containers. Usually rated to DNV 2.7-1 offshore specification and complete with certified slings and shackles. Half height containers are designed to securely stack to save space, which is essential on a rig floor.
20ft x 8ft x 8ft 6" & 40ft x 8ft x 8ft 6" reefer shipping containers (refrigerated containers). Usually stainless steel intertiors & T-bar flooring. Work to plus/ minus 20 or 25 degrees and work off 3 phase electrics. Popular in the catering/ farming markets for temperature controlled storage. Also available in high cube versions for when you need to extra height (9ft 6" high as opposed to 8ft 6" high).
DNV 2.7-1 offshore shipping containers feature full steel construction and usually much more heavy duty than standard shipping containers.
Designed specifically for the offshore shipping market DNV 2.7-1 certified containers are available in 10ft and 20ft lengths. As standard DNV 2.7-1 containers usually come complete with certified slings and shackles - please confirm if you need these when you enquire.
