New ‘one-trip’ Shipping Containers

Buying a new shipping container in the UK

The easiest way to purchase a new container in the UK is via a reseller like us. We purchase new containers in bulk directly from container manufacturers in the far-east and arrange transportation into the UK.

All new containers for sale in the UK have therefore been used once – unfortunately, no one manufactures new shipping containers here.

We then resell these new containers to customers all over the UK who want to buy either an individual container or a small batch.

One Trip Shipping Containers

The term ‘one-trip’ is used within the shipping container industry to inform customers that containers are in ‘new’ condition.

All new containers are manufactured in the far east, they then have one transportation into the UK – hence the term one-trip.

Rather than shipping new containers into the UK empty, every new unit coming into the UK is filled with clean cargo to reduce the initial transportation cost.

All our new containers are in excellent condition, they are 100 percent wind and water tight and will only have very minor surface imperfections (if any).

Shipping Container Delivery in the UK

Delivery prices in the UK will vary slightly depending on your location i.e. the distance you are from one of our depots, we keep stock at depots throughout the country to minimise delivery costs to our customers.

Delivery costs are also impacted by your unloading requirements – i.e. what we need to do when we drop-off your container.

Please let us know if you are able to unload your container as this will likely reduce the delivery price we are able to offer!

We don’t expect most customers to have the equipment required to safely unload a container, so as standard we’ll quote with unloading included! Please see our delivery page for more info on container delivery.

New Container Sizes

We offer new containers for sale in the industry-standard sizes; new 20ft and new 40ft containers are the most common sizes (so offer the best value for money).

We also sell new 20ft High Cube and new 40ft High Cube Containers if you need a little more head room, and specialised storage units in a range of smaller sizes (10ft, 8ft and 6ft).

If you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for on our website, please contact us, our sales team would love to help find you a new container that meets your requirements.

How much do new shipping containers cost in the UK?

The sales prices that our team are able to offer our UK customers is calculated based on several factors as explained below.

The cost of new containers does fluctuate – prices do go up and down, mainly depending on local issues in the far east where they’re produced.

Generally – Prices are going up, over the past few years the cost of new containers has increased steadily and we do expect this rise to continue, so there is no better time to buy a new container.

Your Delivery Location – this will affect our delivery costs. We always try and keep delivery costs as low as possible, the cost will largely depend on the distance your location is from one of our depots. Collection from one of our depots is also a great way to reduce the overall purchase cost of your new container.

Your Offloading Requirements – this will determine which type of vehicle we need to use to deliver your container – if you can offload the container when it arrives we can use transport without a HIAB (lifting arm) so the delivery cost can be reduced!

The Number of Containers you require – if you are looking to purchase more than one container our sales team may be able to offer you each container at a slightly reduced price as we may be able to reduce the delivery costs per unit. If you’re a business looking to bulk order containers, we may also be able to offer a reduced rate for bulk purchases or b2b container sales.

The Base Container Cost – the price we are able to offer our customers largely comes down to the price at which we are able to bulk buy in our new containers. We always try and offer the lowest prices possible.

Competition in the UK Market – as with all products, the market always determines a competitive price! If our competitors are selling at a significantly lower price than we can offer, we won’t sell many containers! We do everything we can to offer our customers the best possible price.

New Shipping Container Uses

New Containers can be used for many things, the two most common uses are for secure storage (at a temporary or fixed location) and for shipping. There is also a large market for Shipping Container conversions, modifying the standard steel shipping container to suit a specific purpose.

Our team offer a container conversion service – new containers provide a great blank canvas as a starting point for many conversion projects including site offices or retail units, their new condition reduces the amount of re-finishing work required (depending on your preferred finish). Take a look at our conversions section for more info.
