The Conversion Brief

A large company based in Scotland contacted us for a bespoke shipping container manufactured to their specifications for an in-line maintenance conversion that was delivered on-site within 4 weeks of order confirmation.

A large Scottish based company came to us with a requirement for a shipping container that would be used on the production line as a maintenance facility.

We worked to customer drawings and fitted the unit out with steel checker plate flooring, 2no. small non-opening windows, personnel access door, large steel workbench, fire-proof curtain across the back with a steel table for a small welding area with ventilation points. Finished in the client corporate colours.

The client was very pleased with the final product and was delivered to site within 4 weeks from order confirmation.

Conversion breakdown

  • 20ft new ‘one trip’ shipping container – 20ft x 8ft x 8ft 6”.
  • steel personnel door installed on the left-hand 20ft corrugated panel.
    • Located towards the cargo doors.
    • Dressed with 50mm box section.
  • 400mm x 400mm apertures cut out from the left-hand 20ft corrugated panel.
    • Dressed with 50mm box section.
    • Installed with small PVC framed windows.
  • Internally the container flooring was overlaid with chequer plate flooring.
    • Resprayed grey to match the internal of the container.
  • Along the right-hand side, internally a work bench spanning the length of the container was fabricated.
    • Fabricated from 50mm box section.
    • With steel sheets spanning the length as the bench top.
    • 6-inch vices installed.
  • Additional small work station fabricated and positioned in the back left-hand corner.
    • Fabricated from 50mm box section.
    • With steel sheet as the bench top.
  • Fire proof curtain spanning across the container installed.
    • To form a small welding space.
  • Externally the container was sprayed in dark blue – RAL5015.
