40ft Biomass Shipping Container Conversion

Key Facts

Size: 40ft new ‘one trip’ full side access shipping container
Use: Biomass container
Location: Highlands
Project Length: 4-weeks

The Conversion Brief

Our client contacted us after speaking with us at a trade exhibition we exhibited at. They needed a Biomass shipping container, after discussing with the client we went with a 40ft high cube new full side access shipping container fitted with increased vents for ventilation.

Breakdown of the Project

We were approached by a customer based in East Anglia at a recent trade exhibition regarding a biomass shipping container conversion. Although rare, the client required a 40ft x 8ft x 9ft 6″ high cube new ‘one trip’ shipping container with full side access. We supplied & fitted various aluminium louver vents within steel box section frames within the unit. We had these made to measure, maximising the areas available between the locking bars etc.

We supplied & fitted a steel personnel access door for everyday man access, as an alternative to using the container double doors. The unit was grafo-thermed (anti-condensation coating) on all the inside walls & finished externally in colours own corporate colours.

The container was very well received, and delivered to the client to finish the internal fit out before being delivered up into the Highlands for its final resting place! I was informed that this was to be the UK’s largest biomass container housing and although I cannot officially confirm this, I wouldn’t be surprised!
